Jan Vardøen is a Norwegian musician, director, author and restaurant owner. Vardøen is born and raised in Ireland and England, but has Norwegian ancestors. He is an established restaurant owner in Oslo, and runs several restaurants and bars in Grünerløkka, including Bar Boca, Hotel Havana, Parkteatret, Villa Paradiso, Aku Aku, The Nighthawk Diner, Smelteverket, Grünerløkka Brygghus and Vespa.
In addition he has released five records, contributed as a judge in TV3’s foodprogramme Masterchef and participated in several TV programmes such as 4-stjerners middag at TV Norge.
In 2012 Vardøen established Beacon Isle Productions, where he writes, directs and produces films.
In 2013 he produced the short film Working Stiff, and in 2013-2014 the film Heart of Lightness – Søvnløs i Lofoten. In 2015 his second film Høst was released. This fall his third film Det Norske Hus premières in Norwegian cinemas.
